# How we verify listings

Every listing comes from a state licensing agency's own public records. Phones, websites, Google ratings and emails we added from Google Maps listings and firms' own websites are labelled on each card; nothing is taken from review sites or scraped directories.

## Sources and last retrieval

* **Texas:** Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation ([source](https://www.tdlr.texas.gov/mold/mold.htm)), retrieved 2026-10-12.
* **Florida:** Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation ([source](https://www2.myfloridalicense.com/mold-related-services/)), retrieved 2026-10-12.
* **New York:** New York State Department of Labor ([source](https://dol.ny.gov/mold-program)), retrieved 2026-10-12.
* **Washington, DC:** DC Department of Energy & Environment ([source](https://doee.dc.gov/service/mold-professional-licensing)), retrieved 2026-10-12.

## What we check

* The licence appears on the agency record, and the licence number and expiry date (where published) are shown on the listing with a link to the source.
* Records are grouped by firm or shared address; individuals without a published address are flagged.

## What we don't verify

* Workmanship, prices, insurance or availability.
* Contact details a pro adds later, until the claim process checks them against the licence record. The same goes for phones, websites, ratings and emails we added from Google Maps listings and firm websites: we match them carefully, but they are not part of the licence record.
